Who We Are
It was a very ordinary day when I decided to get a tattoo. I had some idea of what to get but we weren’t quite there.
Like all other creatives, I moved to Pinterest, to Instagram to drown myself in inspiration.
There was inspiration, an ocean of it, but it seemed like the context of inspiration was missing. I found mindblowing Japanese art, tattoos from California and tattoos referencing artefacts that seemed detached from my own Indian context.
To add to my tattoo troubles, I couldn’t find a handy list of women tattoo artists who I could get inked by. A tattoo stays on your skin forever and it was important for me to get tattooed by someone whose art I could relate to.
Hence, I thought of taking matters in my own hands to search and list women tattoo artists and designers from South+East Asia.
